They had been marching and fighting since dawn. Some had been awake for thirty-six hours. The ridge at Mont-Saint-Jean was churned to mud. The French artillery had been hammering them for hours. And then came the Imperial Guard — Napoleon's finest, undefeated, the men who had broken every army in Europe.

Wellington's redcoats held.

Not because it was easy. Not because they weren't afraid. But because the man to their left was holding, and the man to their right was holding, and to break would mean the end of everything. So they loaded. And fired. And loaded again. And held the line.

This badge design captures that moment with extraordinary detail — the disciplined British infantry square, muskets blazing at point blank range, French cavalry breaking around them like a wave on rock, the Union Jack rising defiantly through the smoke above it all. "Waterloo 1815. Hold The Line." Crossed Brown Bess muskets, royal crown and laurel wreath below. Rich crimson, burnished gold and deep navy on black — it looks exceptional on a dark tee.

The circular badge format gives it the feel of a regimental commemorative piece — the kind of thing that belongs framed in a study, given as a meaningful gift, or worn by someone who understands exactly what happened on that ridge on June 18th 1815.
